Luther Medley

Luther Medley, 81, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. 

Mr. Medley was born June 19, 1932, in Wappapello, Mo. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a lineman for a utility company.  He enjoyed playing bluegrass music, making and repairing wooden instruments, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. He was of the Southern Baptist faith.

He married Bonnie (Prewett) Medley May 24, 1952, in Piggott, Ark. She survives.

Also surviving are four children, Gary Medley (Hilda) of Goddard, Kansas, Sharron Watson of Pocahontas, Ark., Karen Murphy (Doug) of Williamsville, Mo., and David Medley (Ginger Potts) of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; Amanda Hicks, Jeffrey Watson, Elizabeth Perigo (Ian), Matthew Murphy and Cody Potts; and three great-grandchildren, Ally Barnett, Vayne Perigo and Chase Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva Medley; three sisters, Virgie Johnson, Cordella Fouts and Lena Harty; four brothers, Leslie Medley, Bill Medley, Leamon Medley and Lonzo Medley; a son-in-law, Charles A. Watson and a granddaughter, Michelle Medley.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday October 11, 2013  at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home (844 Cedar Street) in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday October 12, 2013 in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Jimmy Gilbert officiating.  Burial will be in the Black River Cemetery with Military honors.

Devonte Curtis Dye

Devonte Curtis Dye, age 5, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Qulin, Mo. 

Devonte was born July 8, 2008 in Springfield, Mo.  He was a kindergarten student and loved to run and play outside.  He also enjoyed music.

He is survived by his mother, Amber Zoll; his father, Jimmy Dye Jr.; grandparents, Becky Zoll and Keith Zoll, Magnolia Gainwell, and Carmelita Quentin Craft; 2 sisters, Gabrielle Lewis and Andrina Dye and 2 brothers, Jaykob Gannon and Mason Zoll. 

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street (9th and Cedar) Poplar Bluff, Mo., with  Bishop Ron Webb officiating.  Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Bob Faborito

Bob Faborito, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. 

Mr. Faborito was born June 8, 1923, in Maui, Hawaii.  On June 15, 1957, he married Jean (Garrett) Faborito, in Chicago, Ill.  She preceded him in death in 1980.

Survivors include his children, Val McCarthy, Bob Faborito, Cathy Emmons and Debbie Cassinger; one sister, four brothers, nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

His wife, parents and one sister precede him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff with Rev. Glenn Epps III officiating.

Harold W. Cassinger

Harold W. Cassinger, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center September 30, 2013.  He was born June 17, 1927 at Coon Island, Missouri, to the late Willie Cassinger and Nettie Mae Lawrence Cassinger.

On October 2, 1944 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he was married to Evelyn Emmons. She survives.

Also surviving, his children, Bill Cassinger and wife Debra of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Richard Cassinger and wife Susie of Neelyville, Missouri, Carey Cassinger and Wife Lauren of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. His grandchildren, Richard Wayne, Alan, Jeffery, Brad, Cody, Trey, and Mariah. great grandchildren; Craig, Chelsey, Cory, Hayden,  Hana-Kate, Austin, Aubrie, Will and Madison Mcklintoc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Bonnie Sue Cassinger,, four sisters, Opal Beecher, Ann Tutor, Omah Silkwood and Alice Cassinger as well as one Borther, James Cassinger.

Visitation for Mr Cassinger. will be Wed. October 2, 2013 starting at 11:00 am in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Missouri. Services will begin at 1:00 pm following visitation with burial in the Coon Island Cemetery. Bishop Ron Webb officiating.
