Nathan Douglas Pringle

Monday, March 17th, 2014

Nathan Douglas Pringle, 23, of Neelyville, Mo., died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Mr. Pringle was born Jan. 29, 1991, at Paragould, Ark. He worked in emergency management in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a lifelong Butler County resident. He enjoyed hunting, shooting rifles, fishing, golf, trapping, and video games.

Survivors are: his mother, Lousinda “Cindy” Murray McCombs and stepfather, Teddy McCombs of Neelyville; his father, Doug Pringle of Corning Ark.; his grandparents, Linda Murray of Poplar Bluff and Ted and Florence McCombs of Neelyville; his great-grandmother, Hazel Smith of Corning; his stepsister, Jessica McCombs of Perryville, Ill.; his brothers, Jerry Pringle and wife, Codi, of Big Rock, Tenn., and Jamin Cook of Hariviell, Mo.; his stepbrother, Jeffery Holloway of Poplar Bluff; three nieces, Sissy, Autumn and Journey; and one nephew, Hunter.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. The funeral service will be at noon Monday in the funeral home chapel with Linda Murray, Bruce McGrew, and Donnell McCombs officiating.

Vernon Johnson

Vernon Gale Johnson, 67, of Fairdealing, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Johnson was born October 1, 1946, in Scott Co. Missouri, to the late Jesse and Alfreda Johnson. He was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship in Poplar Bluff and had worked at Three Rivers College. 

On March 20, 1965 he married Cora Jean (Alexander) Johnson,  in Creston, Ill.   She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Lena Conner (Don), Kathy Johnson, Tammy Somers (Harvey), Mary Kisor (James), Edith Randell (Alan Garrison), Crystal Johnson, and two foster children;  4 sisters, Shirley Fields, Faye West, Patsy Nicoloff, and Diane Kime; 4 brothers, Carl, Jesse, Ray, and James Johnson; as well as 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Thelma Grace and Bernita Patterson and a brother, Wayne Johnson.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Grace Christian Fellowship, 3200 Warrior Lane, Poplar Bluff, Mo., with Rev. Brian Sharp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Mo. Wild Horse League, PO Box 415, Eminence, Mo., 65466.

Jerry Lee Pullum

Jerry Lee Pullum, 59, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away March 9, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Pullum was born June 20, 1954 in Poplar Bluff. 

He is survived by his sisters, Linda D. Hewlett and Janet S. Rice; and one brother, Ronald A. Pullum.

His father, Orla A. Pullum and mother, Juryline (Hoxworth) Pullum  both precede him in death.

No services are planned.

James Herman White

Friday, March 7th, 2014

James Herman White, 87, of Naylor, Mo. Passed away at his residence, March 6, 2014. He was born May 18, 1926 in Neelville, Mo. to the late John Logan White and Ada Bell Warren White.

On September 14, 1946 at Pocahontas, Arkansas He was married to Juanita Marr. She survives.

Also surviving is one daughter Dianna White of Naylor, Mo.. One sister, Velma Williams of Mo Ark, Arkansas. Many Nieces and Nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond White, Melvin White and Marvin White.

Mr. White enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, Mowing and gardening. He served on Naylor City Counsel hand had taught sunday school at his church the Naylor Missionary Baptist Church. Herman also served at Sunday School Superintent. He served in the United States Navy for four years during  WWII.

Visitation for Herman will be Monday March 10, 2014 starting at 11:00 am in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Mo.. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Corning Cemetery in Corning, Arkansas. Rev. Randy Hart officiating.

Charissa Danialle Byrd

Charissa Danialle Byrd, 11 weeks old of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away at her residence March 4, 2014. She was born December 12, 2013 at Poplar Bluff, Mo. to Stephen Hemphill and Jessica Bryd Hemphill.

She is survived by her parents, one sister, Nevaeh Byrd of the home, her grandparents, Tammy Byrd  of Poplar Bluff, Mo and Kenneth Hemphill of Hayti, Mo and Hope Lacey of Caruthursville Mo. Her great grandparents, Don and Velma Robertson of Poplar Bluff, Mo.  One uncle Dustin Byrd of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Vernon Bryd.

Visitation for Charissa will be Wednsday March 12, 2014 starting at 10 am in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville with the funeral at 11 am. The burial will be in the Cypress Creek Cemetery in Fairdealing, Mo. Rev. Glen Byrd officiating.

Lawrence “Ray” Wagner

Lawrence “Ray” Wagner, 70, of  Fairdealing, Missouri, passed away March 4, 2013, at the SouthEast Healthcare of Doniphan, Missouri. He was born September 13, 1943 at Neelyville, Mo. to the late Lawrence Wagner and Alta LeGrand Wagner.

On December 7, 1963, at Poplar Bluff, Missouri , Ray was married to Wanda Cassinger. She survives.

Also surviving, are his children, Traci Raye of Fairdealing, Mo., Vernon Wagner of Doniphan, Mo. and Larry Wagner and wife Kerri of Burfordville, Mo., one sister, Wilma St.Cin of Ariton, Alabama and one brother, Virgil Wagner of Neelyville, Mo. Four Grandchildren, Amy, Seth, Austin, and Joshua also survive.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Wilson and Julia McBroom.

He had worked in sawmill, carpentry, raising Blegian and Percheron horses and farming. He loved working, raising gardens and coon hunting. He served on the Dunning Cemetery Board of trustees.

Visitation for Mr Wagner, will be Saturday March 8, 2014 starting at 6:00 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Mo. with the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Sunday Mrch 9, 2014. Burial will be in the Coon Island Cemetery.

Dana Moore

Dana Iona Moore, 40, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the Poplar Bluff Medical Center. 

Mrs. Moore was born August 12, 1973 in Poplar Bluff. She was a homemaker and homeschooler. She loved spending time with her family and reading.  She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and loved being active in the church.  

On November 14, 1998, she married Anthony Moore in Poplar Bluff.  He survives.

Other survivors include her children, Seth Austin Moore and Kendell Danielle Moore; her mother, Barbara Rose; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, C.W. and Julia Moore; and brothers, Charles David Rose and Todd Michael Rose.

Her father, Larry Rose, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Dr. Steve Proctor officiating.  Burial will be in the Qulin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made at First Community Bank for the children’s education fund.

Bennie Redus Sr.

Bennie Sherman Redus Sr., 80, of Fairdealing, Mo., died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medial Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Mr. Redus was born on Jan. 5, 1934, in Gatewood, Mo., to the late Everett Redus and Nancy Arnold Redus. He was a carpenter and a lifelong resident of Ripley County. He served as road comission in Mo., and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to auctions. Mr. Redus was a veteran of the U.s. Navy and served in the Korean Conflict.

On March 25, 1953 he married Ruth Mae Cates, in Pocahontas Ark. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2008.

Survivors include his children, Gaylia Ruth Rowland (Ron) of Doniphan, Mo., Bennie Redus Jr. (Stella) of Phoenix Az., Jeffery Redus(Dana) of Fairdealing, Mo.; 3 sisters, Mary Ann Youck, Rockford, Ill., Etta Pullen of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Virgie Hayes of Gatewood, Mo.; 6 brothers, Tony Redus of Pacific, Mo., Clarance Redus of Wappapello, Mo., Johnny Redus of Gatewood, Mo., Joseph Redus of Doniphan, Mo., Truman Redus of Wisconsin, Buster Redus of Gatewood, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Larry, Matt, Corbin, Jelieann, Kyle, Noah; 6 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kristina, Shannon, Lauren, Everett, and Adaleigh.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel and Funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at New Home Church in Gatewood, Mo. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.

Willard L. Allison

Willard L. Allison, 72, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. 

Mr. Allison was born March 12, 1941 in Portageville, Mo., to the late James and Lois (Dooley)Allison. 

On August 12, 1961 he married Janice (Perry) Allison, in Portage, Indiana.  She survives. 

Also surviving include his children, Rick and Shirley Allison, and Sondra and Randy Persons all of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren, Derick, David, Daniel, Devin, Alli, Andrew and Samuel all of Poplar Bluff;  sisters Dora Armor (Dean) of Broseley and Doris Modonas of Davidson, Mi.; brothers, Bud  Allison (Chestine) of Fisk, and Travis Allison of Poplar Bluff; and one sister-in- law; Barbara Allison of Portage, In.

He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Benita and Deborah Allison; brothers, Arley and Bill Allison, as well as a sister, Juanita Napier.

Mr. Allison was a local contractor, developer and business owner.  He owned and operated Allison Construction, Oakdale Care Center, and various other commercial developments. 

He attended the Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff.

Willard was passionate about his family and his work.  He worked tirelessly, with enthusiasm, joy and integrity.  He cherished his role as a provider and mentor.  He adored his loving wife of 53 years, and he believed the world revolved around his children and grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m.  Friday March 7, 2014, at the Palace of Praise Church, 1400 Herschel Bess Blvd., Poplar Bluff .  Funeral service will begin at 11a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Palace of Praise Church, with Bishop Kent Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
