Clarence “Archie” Rommel

Clarence “Archie” Rommel, 87, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday September 10, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Rommel was born November 1, 1926 in Poplar Bluff.  He was a retired baker. He was of the Baptist faith and he loved his dogs, enjoyed watching the Cardinals play baseball. Christmas was his favorite time of year, as he spent time visiting relatives at his nieces Wanda Talkington’s home.

Mr. Rommel is survived by his children, Larry Rommel and wife, Jan, Dewayne Rommel and wife, Barbara, Kenny Rommel and wife, Carol, and daughter, Phyllis Rommel;  2 step-sons; Roger Harris and Bill Link; 3 sisters, Grace Elledge, Ila Bower  and Sally Elder and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Rommel, his parents, Victor and Violet Rommel, and a daughter, Virginia; 6 brothers and 1 sister.

Visitation will be at 11am Friday September 12, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, Mo.,  followed by funeral service at 12:30 p.m.,with Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating.  Burial will be in Little Brushy Cemetery.

Mae Margie Timmons

Mae Margie Timmons, 80, died September 10, 2014 at The Cedargate in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Mrs. Timmons was born August 19, 1934 in Hoxie Arkansas. She had been a dietary cook in a hospital and enjoyed reading, going on drives and being with her grandchildren.  She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church.

She married Denver Timmons who preceded her in death in 1998.

Survivors include her children, Patsy Ezell and husband, Jerry, Mary Nance and husband, Irvin, and Bobby Joe Miller and wife, Jean; sisters, Mary Parker and Maggie Ramo and husband, Harold; brothers Lloyd Bruce and Vernon Bruce and wife, Shirley, a brother-in-law Jasper Hyde; grandchildren, Dewayne Miller and wife, Susan, Steven Miller and wife, Gina, Joshua Miller and wife, Shannon, Paula Birdsong and husband, Allen, Ervin Nance and wife, Jlynn, Connie Clements and husband, Eric, Kristie Orchard and husband, Richard, Bryan Dorris, Darrell White and wife, Jennifer and Bradley White; great-grandchildren Triston, Breanna, Trevor, Emma, Ethan, and Savana Miller, Hayle, Logan, Cade, Kylie Birdsong, Lincoln Nance, Carson Rolland, Sean White, Cody, Jacob, Shelby Orchard, Brandin, Nick, Eli, Cade, Kaleigh Dorris. Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends, also survive.

Mrs. Timmons was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ruth Bruce; one son, James Allen Miller; sisters, Francis Draper, Gladys Hyde, and Carolyn Bruce; brothers, James, Lee, Lester and Chester Bruce.

Visitation will begin at 6pm Friday, September 12, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral service at 2pm Saturday September 13, 2014, with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.  Burial in Coon Island Cemetery.

Geraldine Reinschmidt

Geraldine Marie Panagos-Reinschmidt, 65, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Reinschmidt was born February 2, 1949 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late James and Martha Panagos.  A retired auto worker, she enjoyed watching the deer and other animals and the Current River.  She attended Christian Family Fellowship.

She is survived by her husband, Lynn Reinschmidt, Sr.; her son, Mark Panagos, step-daughter, Robin Reinschmidt and step-son, Timmy Reinschmidt; two sisters, Judy Gronemeyer and Joyce Panagos; a brother, James Panagos; 2 grandchildren, Kristy Scott, and Stephanie Williams, 8 Great- grandchildren, Breanna Davidson, Haily Perkey, Josh Scott, Kaitlyn Williams, Andrew Reinschmidt, Lexi Knight, Jennifer Knight, and Cole Baldwin.

A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Christian Family Fellowship, 3025 S. Westwood Blvd., Poplar Bluff, Mo. with Rev. Mark Panagos officiating.

Imogene Gilliland

Imogene Alice Gilliland, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 at the Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Gilliland was a homemaker. She was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Naylor, Mo. She married Phillip Gilliland May 25, 1949, in Pocahontas, Ark. He survives.

Her hobbies were quilting, decorating the church, canning, sewing for the grandchildren, writing letters to friends and family and cooking. She was a member of the Naylor Church of Christ.

Other survivors are one daughter, Linda Shea and husband, Glen, of Grand Junction, CO., one sister, Lillian Leroux; a sister-in-law, Betty Woolard of Grand Junction, CO.; a brother, Joe Lee Woolard and wife, Zuna, of Neelyville; five grandchildren, Shad L., Mundy L., Temperance A., Rebecca J., and Clifford E. Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Erin L., McKendra L., Ammon J., Martha A., Claudia M., Emma Jean L.L. and Robert Louis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete Woolard and Mildred Camp Woolard; one sister, Lillian Clark Leroux; and one brother, Harold Woolard.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday a the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Minister will be Wilburn Baucom. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be to the Foundation for the Blind Specifying for Retinitis Pigmentosa.

Roberta Dicken

Roberta Ann Dicken, 54, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Dicken was born November 4, 1960 in Festus, Mo.  She loved crafts, animals and  raising plants.

In 1987 she married Russ Dicken. He survives.

Other survivors include children, Jason Lee Stacy, Zachary Wallace Dicken; step-daughter, Tara Dicken and step-son, Robert William “Bobby” Dicken; her parents, J.A. Lunsford and Mildred (Webb) Lunsford; one brother, Ronald Lee Lunsford; her grandchildren, Luca and Aairk Stacy and Lara Dicken, Sora and Ariel Dicken.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 followed by funeral services at 9:30 a.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo., with Ron Fowler officiating.  Burial will be in the Dicken Cemetery, Harviell, Mo.

Robert “Bob Smith

Robert ” Bob” Smith, 73, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis Mo.

Mr. Smith was born January 22, 1941, in Dexter, Mo.  He was the owner/operator of R & J Auto Body for 45 years.  He enjoyed auto body work, was an auto enthusiast and enjoyed drag racing.  He attended the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center.

On June 14, 1963 he married Juanita Casey in St. Louis, Mo.  She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Regina “Gina” Blalock and husband, Jamie and Scott Smith and wife, Shirlena; 6 grandchildren, Seinna, Sharayah, Samuel and Seth Smith, Alex Blalock and Scotty Smith; 1 great-granddaughter, Kimber Kay Emerson; 1 sister Barbara Hendrix of Jackson, Mo. and a brother, Dwayne Smith of Pensacola, FL. as well as his mother, Norma Gunn-Smith.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Smith and a daughter, Paula Danette Smith.

Visitation will be at noon Monday September 8, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, Mo. and funeral service to follow at 2pm with Rev. Wesley “Bud” Taylor and Rev. Doyle Mitchell officiating.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Marjorie Wiegand

Marjorie Ann Amelia Ruth Wiegand, 73, of Morley, Mo., passed away August 29, 2014, in Dexter, Mo.

Ms. Wiegand was born May 8, 1941 in Highland, Ill. to the late Herbert Wiegand and Marguerite “Zeissett” Brown

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and caring for her pets.

Mrs. Wiegand is survived by her children, Sheryl Dorman and Marsha Woolard and husband, Kevin; a sister Diane Bridges; brothers, David, Dennis, Artie, and Terry Wiegand, and grandchildren, Hillary Webb and Jeffery Webb.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Wiegand.

Visitation will be 9:30am Saturday September 6, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11am AT SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH with Father Coon officiating. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
