Jerry Taylor

Jerry Lee Taylor, 71, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Taylor was born April 28, 1944 in Catron, Mo. He is the owner and manager of Stateline Truck Stop, and his hobbies included spending time with his  children and his grandchildren.

On August 1, 1977 he married Amelia Radin Taylor in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She survives

Also surviving are his children, Lydia Tarr & husband Jeff of Greenwood, Ind., Eric Taylor & wife Sandy of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jeralyn Goodman & husband Brad of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Morgan Taylor of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Jamie Taylor of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Roy Lee Taylor and Myzeila Rhoades and 1 sister Jeannie.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the chapel with Gib Cole officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry requests that you please do not vote for Hillary Clinton.

Bruce L. Jordan Sr.

Bruce Lamar Jordan Sr. “Ghost”, 59, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., was called to his eternal home Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Jordan was born March 28, 1956, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Rozetta Jordan.

He had many health issues, but they never stopped him from going fishing.  He was a man who could fish and loved fishing.  He collected Marvel comic books and watched all of the animated movies.  He enjoyed reading different books and liked to talk.

Left to cherish his memories are 2 daughters, Inger Gillon of Wichita, Kansas, Temeka Jefferson of Fayetteville, N. Carolina; 3 sons, Terrell Jefferson of Spring Lake, N. Carolina, Bruce Jordan Jr. of Poplar Bluff, Bradley Jordan of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Cetanya Hayes of Poplar Bluff;  3 brothers, Keith Jordan (Anna) of Poplar Bluff, Andre Jordan (Ethel) of Poplar Bluff and Lowell Jordan of Springfield, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Shantanika Gillon, Stacy Phillips Jr., Skilyn Phillips, Zayyir Monroe, LaZiyah Jefferson, Sayveion Jefferson and Bruce III; 1 great-grandchild, Miah’leigh Phillips; a special cousin, Patricia Walton Barnes; his fishing buddies, Lawrence Mann and Roy McComb and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bruce seemed to keep us laughing and we will remember that. He will be dearly missed by everyone.

Visitation will begin at noon Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with the funeral service to follow at 1p.m. with Rev. Tommy Robinson officiating.  Burial will be in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Christine Morris

Christine A. Morris, 55, of Fairdealing, Mo. passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Morris was born on Oct. 7, 1959 in Walnut Ridge, Ar. On June 14, 2003, she married Frankie Lee Morris in Doniphan, Mo. He survives.

Mrs. Morris was a member of the Logan Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed camping, crafting, spending time with her grandchildren and making everyone laugh. She was known as a person easy to talk with.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her five children, Stephanie & husband Michael Parks, Elizabeth & husband Dan Christy, Jennifer & husband Jason Sage, Stacey Morris, and Bryan Morris; her parents, William Huckabee and Dorothy Barnes Huckabee; sisters, Karen Boyd Parson, Lisa Collins and Teia Huckabee; brothers, Joe Huckabee, Kieth Huckabee, and Issiac Huckabee; 14 grandchildren, Garret Parks, Jayden Parks, Jason Parks, Heather Merrit, Makala Johnson, Jeffery Johnson, Xander Sage, Jessie Sage, Kole Sage, Serria Kingeor, Winter Christy, Gabberia Christy, Tyler Morris, and William Christy; as well as one great-grandchild, Preston Merrit.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Joseph Allen Christy.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2015 with the funeral following at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. Bro. Curtis Crowley will officiate and burial will be in the Towles Cemetery in Doniphan, Mo.

Patricia Ann Davis

Patricia Ann Davis, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Poplar Bluff Medical Center.

Mrs. Davis was born February 1, 1946 in Gobler, Mo.  to Winfred Leon Isaac and Lula Deline (Cobb) Isaac.  She enjoyed watching CNN and going to thrift stores.  She loved housekeeping and loved her grandchildren dearly.  She was of the Baptist faith.

On July 7, 1970 she married George Charles Davis in Blytheville, Ark.  He preceded her in death in September 2006.

Survivors include her sons, Kenny Wayne Davis, Gregory Leon Davis and Jeffrey Allen Davis and wife, Vickie; two sisters, Rutha Bea Shrum and Bonnie Lee Owens; two brothers, Roger Leon Isaac and Donald Isaac; as well as her grandchildren, Jaimilee Ann Counts, Kody Wayne Davis, Kaitlyn Hosanna Davis, Breeanna Nichole Reberry, Jayson Bradley Reberry, Hannah Marie Davis-Counts, Caydrian Blackburn.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ronald Isaac and a granddaughter, Sarah Dawn Davis.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Phil Tanner officiating.  Burial will take place in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Barbara Tinsley

Barbara A. Reel-Tinsley, 73, of Harviell, Mo., passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at her home.

She was born July 18, 1942 in Butler County to the late Robert Christopher Reel and Mary Dorthy (Hayes) Reel.

She had previously lived in Cahokia/Dupo, Ill. Mrs. Tinsley was of the Pentecostal faith.  She worked as the kitchen manager at the Poplar Bluff School system.  She enjoyed cooking, deep sea fishing, camping, church, family and flowers.

On June 18, 1960 she married Harold Tinsley in Poplar Bluff.  He survives.

Other survivors include her daughters, Sue Tinsley-Vaughn (James), and Karla L. Parker (Bobby); one sister, Vicki Arnold (Mike); a sister-in-law, Doris Reel; 12 grandchildren, Amy Buechel, Joey Tinsley, Mary Beth Griffin, Nicole Vetter (Brett), Jesse Parson, Jarrett Griffin (Jenn), Billy Griffin, Aliesha Gipson (Lacy), Dakota Reel, Ashley Bloomner (Jared), Amanda Parker, and Harold Parker; as well as 14 great-grandchildren, Blake, Paige, Caleb, Abram, Cainen , Lily, Tory, Gage, Odin, Malachi, Makayla, Micayla, Brianna, Aria and Sophia. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy Gene Reel; a sister, Betty Jackson; and a brother, Bobby Jo Reel.

Visitation will be held from 6-8  p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Bob Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hamtown Cemetery.

Patricia Jones

Patricia Lois Jones, 68, of Pocahontas, Ar., died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Pocahontas Nursing & Rehab.

Ms. Jones was born Jan. 13, 1947 in Success, Ar. Her hobbies included listening to country music and baseball games. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include, 1 sister, Roberta Spears of Success, Ar.; 2 nephews; 1 niece; several great nephews and nieces and 8 great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, R.L. (Pete) Jones and Vonda Lee Pond Jones.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 18,2015 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo. from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a graveside service beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Coring Cemetery. Donnie Fowler will be officiating.

Roger Geringer

Roger Geringer, 53, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.,  passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015.

Mr. Geringer was born April 20, 1962 in Perryville, Mo.  to the late Joseph and Marie Geringer.  He was a resident of Poplar Bluff for 24 years.

He was a member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing with his pet dog, working in the yard and was an St. Louis Cardinal fan.

On June 22, 1985 he married Kim Geringer in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.

He is also survived by his sons, Collin Geringer and Colby Geringer; two sisters, Jenny Hunt and husband, Harold of Festus, Mo., and MaryAnn Hoffman and husband, Rick of Cape Girardeau; as well as one brother, Robert Geringer and wife, Andrea of Perryville, Mo.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will follow at 12 (noon) in the funeral home chapel with, Rev. Michael Pope officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Butler Co.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church 817 Arthur Street Poplar Bluff, Mo. 63901.

Robert “Bob” Dodd

Robert Alan Dodd, 58, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Dodd was born December 5, 1956 in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.  He served in the Naval Reserve Seabees for 8 years.  He had worked at MoDOT for 29 years; he was currently the I S manager of Southeast District.  His hobbies were watching his grandkids’ ballgames, woodworking, mission work, and pinewood derby building with the grandkids.

On November 25, 1978, he married Patricia Galbraith-Dodd, in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Nora Emerson-Dodd of Poplar Bluff; mother-in-law, Joyce Garner; children, Christopher Alan Dodd and wife, Janet of Poplar Bluff, Matthew Robert Dodd and wife, Stephanie of Springfield, Tn.; a sister, Judy Tuft and husband, Dick of Hillsboro, Mo.; a brother, Michael Dodd and wife, Diane of Poplar Bluff; a brother-in-law, Brian Galbraith; 4 grandchildren, Chloe Dodd, Madalyn Dodd, Robert Dodd and Heiden Dodd.

Mr. Dodd is preceded in death by his father, Eual Dodd, who passed away February 17, 2012; a brother-in-law, James Galbraith and 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will begin 6pm Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will be at 1:30pm Monday, August 17, 2015 at Westwood Baptist Church with Rev. Christopher Dodd and Dr. Steve Proctor officiating.  Burial will be at Black Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westwood Baptist Church.

Ronald Reed

Ronald Norman Reed, 63, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Reed was born November 10, 1951 in Dexter, Mo. to the late Robert Edward Reed and Helen Marie Reed.  He was a member of New Home General Baptist Church.  He was a retired truck driver for Pepsi Co. and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family.

On January 31, 1969, he married Bonnie (Heaton) Reed.  She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Ronda Yvonne Reed  (Larry Brown),  Ronald Darin Reed and wife, Johnna; two sisters, Patricia Moman and Brenda Blurton; one brother, Robert “Sonny” Reed; five grandchildren, Jessica Reed, Brittney Robinson, Robert Alan Reed, Ty Reed, and Jasa Reed; as well as two great-grandchildren, Kialee and Kenzi Robinson.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Norma “Sis” Reed and JoAnn Reed Whoberry.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m Monday, August 10, 2015, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by the funeral service at 12 (noon), in the chapel, with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.  Burial will take place in the Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Willie “Bill” Sells

Willie “Bill” Grover Sells 76, of Naylor, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 30 surrounded by family in Virginia Beach, VA.

Bill Was born February 7, 1939 to the late Charles and Lillian (Kelly) Sells. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Janet Marlin on November 7, 1959.

Bill was  a veteran of the United States Navy and then, a dedicated Registered Nurse for  over 20 years. He loved reading USA Today with a good cup of coffee, discussing politics, sports, gardening, fishing, and doting over his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by 3 daughters; Terri Hargraves (husband Steve), Tonie Mikel (husband James), and Amy O’Dell (husband Alan). He is also survived by his brother, Harold Sells and family. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren; Jonathan, Toni, Oliver, Cameron (husband Donald), Aidan, Abby, Allison, and Zachary.

Bill was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Janet; and two sisters Betty Thorton and Doris Jordan.

Bill was a survivor, fighting congestive heart failure, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and cancer.

Services for Mr. Sells will begin with Visitation Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be held at the Naylor Memorial Cemetery.
