Elbert Michael Honey

Elbert Michael Honey, 66 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on March 29, 2018 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on November 18, 1951 to the late Vinus Vistal Hone and Emma (Howard) Honey at St. Louis, MO. Elbert was a retired nurse. He enjoyed kereoke, playing cops and robbers with the neighborhood kids

Elbert is survived by daughters, Christene Cook of MS, Pamela Michele Nomey of FL; Son, Michael Shannon Smith of LA; many grandchildren, two Nieces, Dana Bailey of Puxico, MO, Karen Honey of IL; and sister-in-law, Candy Cook of MS.

He was preceded in death by Mother, Emma Jean Honey, dad, Vinus Vistal Honey.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018, 4:00 pm at his home.

Rev. Carl Romine

Rev. Carl Romine, 76, of Ellington, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, March 27,2018 at his residence.  

He was born July 3, 1941 in Poplar Bluff.  He was the owner of Romine Sales and former pastor of Star Community Church in Fisk.  He attended the Palace of Praise in Poplar Bluff.

He enjoyed working, hunting, playing music, spending time with friends and family, but most of all he enjoyed preaching and pastoring.  

On October 28,1989 he married Ila Mae Romine.  She survives.  Also surviving is his son, Frankie Romine and wife Tilsa; step daughters, Judy Santhuff and husband Eddie, Cathy Gibson and husband Newman, Angie Sutton; step sons,  Kenneth Halbrook, Dwayne Halbrook and wife Darla, Randy Buxton and wife Stevie and Rick Buxton and wife Ranae; brother, Leroy Romine and wife June; grandchildren, Kevin Romine, Katie Jane Tipton, Ashley White, Lauren White, Brook-Lyn Romine and Joseph Romine; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Loraine Romine, one brother Alan Romine and step sons, Richard Halbrook and Larry Buxton.

Visitation will be from 12pm-1pm Friday, March 30 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will follow at 1pm with the Rev. Danny Minehart officiating.  Burial will be in the City Cemetery.

Jearald Wayne Dover

Jearald Wayne Dover, 76, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on March 27, 2018 at his home.

He was born on July 21, 1941 to Abie and Nellie (Pennington) Dover in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was a member of Little Brown General Baptist Church and was an over the road truck driver for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and collector of trains and Avon bottles.

He leaves behind a wife of 38 years, Betty (Vaughn) Dover whom he married on September 8, 1979 in Poplar Bluff, daughters, Tammy (Dana) Stine, Sandy (Mike) Wood, Becky (Jesse) Sanders, Laressa (Joey) Vaughn; sons, (Bud) Gerald (Shelly) Dover, Terry (Kaye) Dover, Larry (Brandy) Barriner, Daniel (Selena) Barriner, brothers, Ron and Gale Dover and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Prior to his marriage to Betty he married Carol Chronister on April 6, 1959.

He was preceded in death by his father Abie Dover, his mother Nellie Dover, daughters Kathleen and Theresa Ann Dover, his grandson Jason Robertson, sisters Imogene and Suzie (Cooley), brothers Clem (Junior), James, Dan and Robert, and father and mother-in-law; Inez and Jodie Vaughn.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018, 2:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Brother Kenny Durham officiating.

Burial will take place in the City Cemetery.

Kristy Lynn Montgomery

Monday, March 26th, 2018

Kristy Lynn Montgomery,  52, of Poplar Bluff Mo.,passed away March 24, 2018 at her residence in Poplar Bluff. She was born June 2, 1965 to Larry Montgomery and Mary Roberts. Kristy enjoyed working with flowers and being with family.

She is survived by her mother Mary Roberts, also surviving are two sons Josh Montgomery, and Matthew Tyler. One sister Teresa Wagner, one brother Daniel Montgomery and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Larry Montgomery, a son Phillip Tyler.

There will be a memorial service at 5 pm on Thursday March  29, 2018 at Cross Street Pentecostal Holiness Church located on the corner of Cross and Henry Street in South Poplar Bluff.

Thomas Carter Sr.

Thomas Carter Sr.  72 , of Poplar Bluff formerly of Lebanon Mo. departed this life on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at his residence in Poplar Bluff. He was born on May 23, 1945 to the late Buaffard and Hester (Summers) Carter.

In 2010 he was united in marriage to Sharon Carter in Lebanon Mo. she survives.

He loved bird watching, being with family.

Surviving are his children, Michael Carter and wife MaryAnn, Troy Carter and wife Brandi, Thomas Carter Jr. Jimmy Dunkin and wife Kelly, and Jerry Broyles.  Adopted daughter; Angie Gilliam.  One brother Ed Carter and wife Ann. fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. A very special friend Rick Gilbert and wife Tina,  his special pet dogs Jack and Sassy.

Preceding him in death are his parents, a son Terry Dunkin, three sisters Dorothy, Delores and Sylvia Carter.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 pm on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm  in the funeral home chapel, with Jim Levart officating.

Janua Rexroad

Janua Rexroad, 90 Years, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on March 17, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born on January 13, 1928 to the late Curtis and Zelphia (Bennett) Brown at Pocahontas, AR. On May 23, 1947 she married Wayne Doyle Rexroad Sr. at Pocahontas, AR. He preceded her in death in November 2002.

She was a member of First Assembly of God (Bluff First Church) in Poplar Bluff, where she was a Sunday School teacher..

Janua is survived by her son, Doyle Rexroad and wife Cindy; one grandson, Keaton Rexroad; .

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Wayne Doyle Rexroad, Sr., Father, Curtis T. Brown, Mother, Zelphia Brown, two brothers; Curtis and Matt Brown; Grandson, Seth Rexroad, and Granddaughter, Jodi Rexroad.

Graveside Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, 10:00 am at the Sparkman Cemetery with Rev. Brian Sharp officiating.

Vivian Jameson

Vivian Sue Jameson, 69, of Poplar Bluff, passed away March 13, 2018 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.

She was born on October 13,1948 to the late Zephry and Opal (Cook) Lairson at Poplar Bluff, MO. She had worked at Mo Ark Mold in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed reading and camping. On May 16,1970 she married George. He survives. Also surviving is son Zephry Jameson, brother-in-law; Jerry Jameson, cousins, Raymond and Darla Starling and grandchild; Xander Jameson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zephry and Opal Lairson, Brothers, Denny and Tommy Breece.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 19, 2018, 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018, 1:30 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Rev. David Tharp and Rev. Carter officiating.

Burial will take place in the Bloomfield Veteran’s Cemetery.

Norman Richmond

Norman Lincoln Richmond, 90, of Grandin, passed away on March 11, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 14, 1928 to the late Albert and Fay (Huling) Richmond at Ripley County, MO. Norman worked as a Custodian for John J. Pershing Veteran’s Hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Southside Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting, raising and breaking horses. He had traveled with Anheuser Busch and took care of the Clydesdale horses.
October18, 1956 he married Ethel Jeanette Fletcher. After twelve years of married, she preceded him in death. On January 15, 1972 he married Harriet Marie Richmond (Carpenter) in Carter County, MO. She survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Norma Richmond, Mary (David) Maple, Shannon Richmond Hurst, Sharon Wright, Ruth (Glenn) Gutterman; Son, Daniel Richmond; eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; three Great-great-grandchildren; Brother, Floyd Richmond and Sister, Doris Schmaltz.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of twelve years, Ethel Jeanette Fletcher, Father, Albert Richmond, Mother, Fay Richmond(Huling), Daughter, Debbie Roberts, Daughter-in-law, Sheila Honeycutt Richmond, Son-in-law, Kenny Wright, Sister, Goldie Wagner, Brothers Alvin , Lester and Harlon Richmond.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, 12:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Pastor Jerry Lemons, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Stephens Cemetery on K Hwy in Ripley County.

Olive Yvonne Whittom

Olive Yvonne Whittom, 80 of Poplar Bluff passed away Sunday March 4, 2018 at Westwood  Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.

She was born on December 28, 1937  in Callaway Nebraska to the late Reuban and Dorothy (Miles) Holdeman. On July 31, 1955 she was united in marriage to David Whittom in Kearney Nebraska he survives.

She  was a member of Agee Fellowship Church, she loved crochet, watching Cardinal baseball, spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.

Along with her husband she is survived by her children, Dale Whittom and wife Lisa, Senya Dobbs and husband Clyde, Norman Whittom and wife Tina. Two brothers Orville and Norman Holdeman.  Ten grand and ten great granchildren also survive.

Preceding her in death was  her parents, a granddaughter, Ashley Dawn Whittom and  step-mother Jennie Holdeman.

Visitiation will from 6 till 8 pm on Thursday March 8, 2018 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral home.

Funeral services will held at 10 am Friday March 9, 2018 at Agee Fellowship Church with Rev. Jim Schremp officating internment will follow in the Three Springs Cemetery.

The family request memorials can be made to the Agee Gym fund.
