Mary Lee Berry

Mary Lee Berry ,95 of Poplar Bluff, departed this life on Friday March 15, 2019 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center. She was born on April 17, 1923 to the late James Henry Mosbey and Bessie J Mosbey.

She was married to Lymon Berry he preceded her in death. Later she married Albert Berry ,he also preceded her in death. Having come from a large family she was preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters.

Mary spent most of her life in Butler County .She was a member of the South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, loved sewing and collecting dolls and angels. She loved telling stories.

Surviving are her children, Jimmy Dale Berry and wife Judy, Jearlene Johnson, Willie Joe Berry and wife Judie, Lymon Lee Berry and wife Mary Jane. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Tuesday March 19, 2019 at 10 am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Steve Proctor officiating, internment will follow in the Ash Hill Cemetery at Fisk.

Thurma Griffith

Thurma Lee Griffith, 54 of Poplar Bluff departed this life on March 12, 2019 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff. She was born on March 26, 1964 to the late Roy and Bessie (Anderson) Rippee. She was a homemaker and loved her grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed watching the Price Is Right, and was of the Christian Faith.

She is survived by her children Fancy Griffith, Charles Greer, by her grandchildren, Aschah Smith, Chelsea Greer, Sarah Smith. Three brothers Charlie Rippee, Bobby Rippee, Billy Rippee, and by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son BJ Greer, by six sisters, Lillie Mae Rippee, Janice Lee Rippee, Sarah TJ Rippee, Edith Paulene Keller, Linda Lou Keller, Cathy Green, by two brothers David Rippee, J.R. Rippee.

The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.

Allie Mae Ann Gilliland Dannecker

Allie Mae Ann Gilliland Dannecker, age 81 died March 12, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center from complications with cancer. She has been a resident of Poplar Bluff for the past 25 years.

Ms. Dannecker was born on July 24, 1937 in Piper City, Ford County, Illinois. She lived many of her younger adult years in San Francisco CA. and was a head secretary for Foremost Dairy.

While residing in Oregon she joined the Unity Church. After moving to Poplar Bluff to care for her ailing mother, she became a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and worked as a bookkeeper for Huffman’s Construction.

Her hobbies included being a conntinual learner and lover of good books, magazines and her cats. For most of her adult life she affectionately served as a family communications hub for her siblings, nieces and nephews. Quilt-making was a favorite pastime in her later years. She made at least one quilt for each of her niece and nephew as well as donating quilts to Habit For Humanity to auction off at fund raisers. The opportunity for a trip was never missed. She loved to travel and to drive so much so that she would oft times be the main driver on long trips across country-even at 80+years old. Serving others was always a priority. she loved helping family members and friends. Her reward was seeing others happy and knowing that what she contributed made a difference for good in someone else’s life. She has helped many. Surviving are her siblings: Beatrice I Tompkins, Lloyd E Gilliland, Hazel J Watson and Johnny D Gilliland. Ms. Dannecker has 12 nieces and 16 nephews, she loved them all. She was preceded in death by her parents William James Gilliland and Allie Pearl Gray. By five siblings Louis P Gilliland, Jesse Robert Gilliland, Margaret G Richmond, William C Gilliland, and Henry T Gilliland.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior and or Habit For Humanity in the name of Allie Dannecker.

Jack Bill Pruett

Jack Bill Pruett, 82 of Poplar Bluff departed this life on Saturday March 9, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 22, 1936 to the late Edgar and Allie (Lewis) Pruett at Blodgett, MO. On March 25, 1955 he married Ola Ward at Sikeston, MO She preceded him in death.

He attended the Palace of Praise where he was an Ambassador that greeted you at the door with a warm welcome. Mr. Pruett enjoyed singing Christian music, playing the harmonica, playing games with his family and friends and hunting.

Jack is survived by three sons, Ronnie Pruett(Donna), Howard Pruett and John Pruett(Debbie); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friend, Carolyn Pentecost.

He was preceded in death by Wife, Ola Bernice Pruett, Daughter, Ronda Phillips, Father, Edgar Pruett, Mother, Allie Pruett, Grandson, Jimmy Pruett, Brother, Elvin Pruett, Brother, Tommy Pruett, Brother, Glendon Pruett, Brother, Orin Pruett, Brother, Eugene Pruett, Brother, Archie Buford, Sister, Minnie Lee Clark, Sister, Levina Jean Hicks.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 11am Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1pm Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff with Bishop Kent Miller officiating.

Burial will take place in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Hwy 91, County Road 307 Bell City, Mo
